Seeking CA/CPA qualified Management Accountant for an immediate start for a 9-12 month contract $90-120k base

• You must be CA/CPA Qualified
• You must have extensive Australian experience within a similar role
• Due to the temporary nature of this role you must be immediately available and willing to commit to a contract for 9-12 months in Darwin
• Due to the immediate start you must be in Darwin in order to be considered
• Ideally you will have significant Management Accounting experience preferably within the mining / heavy industry

Your new company
Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on a fixed term contract for 9-12 months. This newly created role will involve the following tasks:

• Preparation of the month end board pack, this requires a high degree of written skills and attention to detail
• Analysis on major rehabilitation project spend
• Cost analysis and wage allocation
• Assist with annual plan and forecast preparation
• Learn and assist with analysis and Financial management submissions

Bring your Financial Accounting experience to this diverse role. Responsibilities will include:

• Complete monthly and annual Financial reports
• Prepare full Year End accounts and supporting reconciliations in compliance with relevant legislation and applicable accounting standards
• Prepare relevant monthly management reports for delegated portfolio including variance reporting to managers/ stakeholders/external auditors
• Preparation of annual budgets and BAS statements
• Manage the General Ledger and Balance Sheet including all necessary reconciliations
• Liaise effectively with external Auditors, Bank Managers and provide support and understanding of financial data to all relevant stakeholders as required
• Ensure continuous improvement of all Finance processes and procedures

What you’ll need to succeed

• Relevant tertiary qualification with CA/CPA membership
• Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
• Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising with key senior stakeholders
• Attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Be willing and able to complete a medical
• Experience in a similar role preferably within the construction, mining or heavy engineering industry
• An understanding of inventory costing methods
• Strong Analytical abilities
• Current NT Driver’s License
• SAP experience is highly regarded
